I’m, Kent Dufault, a photographer and writer with over 35 years of experience behind the camera. I started my career as a commercial photographer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, working with clients and learning the craft through real-world projects. Over time, I developed a passion for teaching photography and sharing what I’ve learned.
I’ve written hundreds of articles and thirteen eBooks on a wide range of photographic topics. My writing comes from the same approach that guided my photography — clear thinking, careful observation, and an appreciation for the details that make an image work.
And, I enjoy reviewing cameras, lenses, and all kinds of photography gear. My aim is to share real-world experience with photographers who are curious about how things work in practice — not just on paper.
Today, I served as the Director of Content at Photzy.com & now I run Nerdy Camera for fun. My work has helped photographers at all levels improve their skills and see the world a little differently.
Outside of photography, I write fiction. You can find my graphic novel series on Instagram at @snapseedit. I lived in Argentina for four years and hope to make Oregon my home someday.
Whether through images or words, my goal has always been the same: to help people tell better stories.
